[Fixed] Warning: Aliased line width 2.00 exceed plateform limit [1.00:1.00]

Good day everyone!
I'm getting this warning (aliased line width 2.00 exceed plateform limit [1.00:1.00]) each time I run
sMode Synth (free). My version is 7.2.588. What could that mean and how to get rid of this warning?

Hi @skinnytorus and welcome to the Forum!

This warning comes from the fact that some graphics card (drivers) know how to display lines with width different from 1 and some other don't know how to do that. I had a quick look at the code and apparently, it's the X, Y, Z axis inside the 3d view that are displayed with width=2 and causes the warning to appear.

In principle this warning only tells that those lines will be displayed with width=1 instead of width=2, so it should not prevent using Smode.

Can I ask you the following to go further?

• send us a screenshot of your 3d view for an empty compo (the one where you see the grid) => that would enable to confirm my theory...
• try updating your graphics card drivers; does it change anything?
• tell us the details of your graphics card. For this, in Smode, go into EDIT > Preferences > System and report us the "OpenGL" part

Many thanks for the info. If this problem is not critical, then it's ok - I can live with that.
But for order's sake let me give you the info you were asking for.
1) my OpenGL specs:
OpenGL vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
OpenGL render: GeForce GTX 780/PCIe/SSE2 version: 3.3.0 NVIDIA 376.09
OpenGL shading language version: 3.30 NVIDIA via Cg compiler

2) Screenshot of sMode with the warning (attached).

Strangely, my graphics card is slightly less powerfull but it does not exhibit the problem:

OpenGL vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
OpenGL render: GeForce GTX 680/PCIe/SSE2 version: 3.3.0 NVIDIA 372.90
OpenGL shading language version: 3.30 NVIDIA via Cg compiler

Anyway, thanks for the report, I think we'll try to get this fixed soon, but indeed it's not a big matter and should not prevent usage.

And by the way, I have the same issue on my other PC with Nvidia GTX 1060 installed.
If it makes any sense to you, please also note that during the bug fixing.

You should probably update your driver to 376.33 WHQL (Release Date: 2016.12.14)
By the way, I did do manage to reproduce the issue on GTX480/Windows7 with 372.90 driver nether with the 376.33 driver.

It's certainly more related to the GPU generation or OS version, do you run under Windows 8, 8.1, or 10 ?

Can you go to the Smode Edit/Preferences/Engine/Graphics Windows/Graphics Device Parameters
And disable the "Forward Compatible Profile"
Then Apply Changes
Then restart Smode

And tell us if this fix the warning message ?

I updated the drivers and disabled the "Forward Compatible Profile". Unfortunately, none of that helped.
The warning is still there. I'm running Win 7x64 Home Edition. But thanks for trying to help anyway.

I'm glad to inform you that the new Smode Synth version 7.3 is out.
This version fix the aliased line width exceed platform limit message.
For all Windows version with all GPUs and drivers.

You can reactivate the "Forward Compatible Profile" without any risks.

and update your version.
