You can change the seed to have always different planets (when by different I mean only its topology).
Super cool! What I see must be either a subdiv surface modifier or a particle mesher. Which one is that?
It's just a geosphere with a high precision, distorted with 3D noise remapped to a function to make the cliff effect. No fancy sub-division technique or anything, although this would definitely benefit from a GPU based tesselation !
By the way, is there any hope to see the GPU based tessellation in sMode any time soon?
