Closed Smode but its still active in the Task Manager

closed down Smode but its still active in the Task Manager and taking resources.

I also find this happening from time to time.
(so much so that I expect it to happen, and check for it every time I shut it down)
I have not found rhyme or reason for it..
I see no discernible pattern to when it occurs.
It has been occurring for some months for me,
so all I know it that it isn't an issue with a newer update.

I reported this problem to the developer
as a workaround, you can close Smode using [Alt]+[F4] or the close cross button on the top right.
this will always close totally Smode
