Import video in smode

hello, just installed smode, and i am trying to see if i can import a video in it, as my aim is to work at composition starting from video, modifying it. I cannot find how can do that

Hello,
1) have you created a media directory ? https://smode.fr/doc/ref/ui/files-panel.htm#Adding%20a%20media%20directory

2) if your video is not in HAP or Apple ProRes you need to transcode it https://smode.fr/doc/ref/ui/files-panel.htm#Converting%20video%20in%20HAP%20and%20audio%20in%20WAV%20from%20Smode

3) then you can drag and drop it in your composition

4) you can either use a standalone player https://smode.fr/doc/ref/animation/standalone-player.htm
or a timeline for playing the video https://smode.fr/doc/ref/animation/timeline.htm

ok i am doing it, but i see the transcode it takes ages!! My pc is not latest but i am transcoding a 18mb video..small one. It never finishe..why that?

to say it better, it looks like at certaon point hang. The trnascoded file has reached the sized of 914mb, and it never increade anymore. It is not playable neither in smode neither in any video player though, so it is not finished. Also on bottom i see GPU MEM indicator stil with that green line (blocked) saying 0,4 / 2.0 gb

Have you tried with a more powerful computer ?
Does your drive have free space ?

can you send the log file of Smode "%appdata%/Smode Studio/"

i have tried to import another video and it is fine. ut the previuous will not work on another pc also. It is a normal mp4 i made through premiere export..and it does not work. A clip form a mobile phomne work...Are there any restriction to files tha can be transcoded?

the backend is made with FFmpeg so normally there is no codec that can't be transcoded ( especially form Encoder )

for HAP the resolution needs to be a multiple of 2 ( but if it is not the case the transcode will not even start and send an error )

i find this trancoding process to complicated though. Is there another format that Smode support? at least i can use a batch converter instead of the smode transcode

Smode support HAP or Apple ProRes as I mentioned before

you go to the "%appdata%/Smode Studio/" folder then "logs" and zip the last file and upload it

i have been able to transcode that cli that i could not transocode in 2 different pc..
can be because i have solved the error at startup deleting the doc folder??Cannot upload attachment yet..though
