I am looking for some insight on how to achieve an effect in Smode that is an Effect preset in After Effects.
In After Effects, I can add an effect called “Stretch In Each Word”, and it will animate in each character of a word in a Text line automatically. In the visual I have, it animates on from the right side. The animation includes Position, Scale, Rotation, and Skew that all have expressions applied to them in order to create the desired effect. After Effects also as the Effect labeled “Stretch Out Each Word” which animates the text out in the reverse way it animated in.
When I am going through the Smode Effectors, I am trying to find a solution to try and recreate this effect. Ideally, a solution to animate each character in a word, but to have the word settle in the desired composite word, name, or phrase.
If possible, I would really like to find a way to edit the text on the fly and still have a working animation.
I have been throwing a lot of effectors at a Text line in the Elements Tree of my Compo, but I have not yet found a solution built into Smode for this. I am trying to think outside the box by using String Parameters to drive the Text content, and then trying to find something that would manipulate the Text layer; however, I am not having any luck.
Any ideas/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
